X&Y is a bar of the old school, where there is no judgment of labels, shoe brands or hairstyles. The staff, the patrons and the venue all kick back, relax and enjoy the company of each other, the way it used to be in the Valley when businessmen, tradies and queens sat alongside each other and there was no judgment.
The venue is a bar first and foremost, which will showcase live music seven nights a week, seven nights of sound. The owners are serious about emerging bands, emerging DJs and creators of sound and hope to work with Brisbane's upcoming musicians to give them a place to play and call home.
While the graffiti on the walls say the building has been a willing canvas for the Valley's artistic set, and the sense of history that pervades the atmosphere whispers of colourful times and even more colourful characters, X&Y bar in Ann Street is as modern as they come.
