There could be many reasons for this: perhaps waiting until you know the relationship is long-term; sometimes it's a cultural thing - waiting to tell your family and closest friends first before making your relationship known to the wider world; or it could be for any other number of reasons. In some cases, couples may even introduce each other as just a "friend" for some time when they are in fact dating or in a relationship for various reasons. Other times, couples might decide not to make any "official" announcement, be together, and just let things flow. Most importantly, the choice and time is something both you and your partner should be happy with. Telling peopleIn the world of Facebook and social networking, making a relationship 'official' to the world takes just a couple of clicks and before long everyone knows. People will often inform their family and closest friends first - and most likely after they have met the other person and some time has passed. Before long, you'll be going out and introducing one another as each other's partner.
